Per an email from Evangelization...
As the Evangelization Commission transitions into a Committee we will have to give the Greeters program back to you (the Worship Commission) in the fall
This blog provides information regarding our Parish Worship Commission Ministry. This blog is our meeting between meetings.

Based on the emails I have received, there appears to be a consensus so far that it is hoped that 1 of the 60 greeters would become a member of the Worship Commission and take the responsibility of scheduling and contacting the greeters.
How do we contact the "60 greeters". Does anyone have an email list?
The Worship commission never had this responsibility, though we have discussed it for a couple of years. The ministry was started by the Evangelization Commission and after they started it they wanted to give it to someone else to manage. I hope that 1 of the 60 greeters would become a member of the Worship Commission and take the responsibility of scheduling and contacting the greeters, just as Ron manages approximately 100 Ushers.

Dear Bob,
We will work on Teresa finding someone to take over for her and either joining your Commission or blending the Greeters into the Welcoming Ministry as it develops. Rest easy for now and I will let you know when we have a solution.

Toni,
The greeter program, as you know, has been a matter of discussion between our two commissions for some time. The initiative was launched and managed by the Evangelization Commission since its inception.
Everyone would probably agree the greeter program is a positive reflection of the parish mission statement in welcoming and making folks feel at home as they enter the building. To us the greeter program is seen as an informal social function outside the worship space and separate from our core focus and goals which is worship and liturgy.
Our plate is currently more than full with projects and initiatives of our own design. In addition we really don't have anyone with the time or desire willing to step-up and take over responsibility for the greeter program.
In order for us to give further consideration to the proposal of taking over your initiative we ask if there is anyone from the ranks of the greeter program or Evangelization Commission who is capable and willing to step forward and become part of the Worship Commission and assume full responsibility for managing and scheduling the 60 or so greeters on an ongoing long term basis. If this can happen it may be an easier sell to our commission.
Peace be with you,
Bob

Bob,
At our meeting last night we came to realize that as the Evangelization Commission transitions into a Committee we will have to give the Greeters program back to you in the fall. Teresa will be happy to help your person get started. There are approx. 60 people who help out with greeting. We wanted to give your Commission plenty of time to prepare for this change. You do an amazing job leading the Worship Commission. You have the right gifts for that service, thank you for using them for our parish.
God bless
Toni
